![]() ![]() Today’s audiences don’t care as much about formal credentials (we’ll talk about this more in a minute). Audiences care about influence over accreditation.Instead, it makes it easy for anyone with a valuable skill to create video content and share their talents with niche and engaged audiences. TikTok doesn’t share the same bureaucratic constraints as educational institutions. So, why is TikTok so popular for learning? Fast Company reports TikTok is changing the future of education. As of now, TikTok is considered one of the largest learning platforms in the world.Īs it stands now, the hashtag #LearnOnTikTok has over 241 billion views and prompts viewers to dive in and “discover something new.” TikTok’s growth opened the door for new trends across all verticals-including education. The platform is available across 150 markets, 40 countries, and 75 languages. TikTok grew over 180% among users aged 15-25 in 2020, according to Statista. TikTok is a flourishing learning platform Let’s take a closer look at why the rise of the Creator Economy is changing the future of education and how creators are a new breed of educators. Brands hiring creators to educate audiences.Independent programs and creator courses to bolster real-world skills.New creators teaching skills on social media that are traditionally reserved for the classroom.Platforms used for teaching and learning purposes. While I’m a fan of academia, I’m also a proponent of innovation in teaching and learning, which is exactly what we started to see more of in 2020.Īs schools closed in 2020 and as the Creator Economy grew, there was an uptick in: Is an online Harvard education worth $50K per year? Even though closing schools was a bummer, it opened the door for people to think way outside the traditional educational box. I bring up 2020’s disrupts in traditional education and how we (understandably) fell short for one reason: This is especially strange considering Harvard published its own study on how students in “active learning” (i.e., collaborative) classrooms learn more. ![]() Remember how universities went online too, and, undergraduates were required to pay full tuition for garbled Zoom calls and links to YouTube videos? Even Harvard undergrads had to pay the full $50K tuition for online classes. While many children suffered academically from schools closing, parents of young kids weren’t the only ones to question the value of the “new normal.” Where did I find the human child who was supposed to be in class? Playing games in the other room.Īs I said, online public school was a bust for my family. I’ve been sitting at 5 million for a year doing it this way so I do believe it is the best approach.Yes, that’s my kid’s teddy bear acting as a proxy for her online Portuguese immersion classes. Whether you take my tips to heart or not is up to you! Do what works for you. If you’re unsure how to price something, check the market! What is that coat + mane selling for? On the other side, don’t go crazy and put a one star mane at 40k. Don’t waste your horse’s hearts and your carrots. I would only put it up for that much if there was just, no lineage. If you get a +9 white with a two star mane, and you class it up to 179, you really shouldn’t be putting it up for 10k. Don’t make yourself less likely to get what you want. I’ve seen a few people argue that going with less lineage is better bc you can still get a good coat but that’s just setting yourself up for failure imo. Again, not a guarantee, it just gives you the best chance. ![]() :sparkles: For the best results, you want to breed a +9 of your desired coat + the mane you’re after. It increases the chance of getting a foal! Cleaning your horse to that point may take a while but it’s worth it. :sparkles: Before breeding, make sure your horse’s beauty bar is up to both checkpoints. You need to breed to make money but you need money to breed. That also depends on how much carrots you have though! It’s a bit of an endless loop when you already don’t have a lot of carrots. Usually I go 10 breeds (100k) before giving it a break. Again, it’s luck, so set a limit for yourself. :sparkles: Don’t let breeding control you. The two horses you match matters, yes, but know that it doesn’t guarantee anything. :sparkles: Understanding that breeding is mainly luck will help you in the long run. An update to my last wiki is overdue, so just remaking it altogether! ![]()
